Reflections of the Season

Lights sparkle everywhere,
Homes decorated with holiday jewelry.
Retail ads glare from the daily paper,
Malls bedecked with articficial greens.
Something is amiss, there is a void.
Where is the Savior? The Savior.
Where is He in all of this?
He, who is the reason,
the heart of Christmas,
is not to be seen.
Too much clutter, too much glitter.

Look closely. Listen. Ask. Seek.
He is present. Quietly He waits.
He waits to be found
in the midst of holiday distractions.
The shining jewel,
The crowning Glory,
The most precious gift of all.

~Amen.~
